Hercules Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
Hercules is a 1997 American animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation for Walt Disney Pictures. The 35th Disney animated feature film and the eighth animated film produced during the Disney Renaissance, the film was directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. The film is loosely based on the legendary hero Heracles (known in the film by his Roman name, Hercules), the son of Zeus, in Greek mythology.
A disappointed viewer shared this in a review "Hercules is very inaccurate to many variations to Greek Mythology. Many names, places, and characters are interpreted the wrong way. 1) The reason Hercules fights monsters is that he wants to be a hero. This is false, Hercules, in many versions, had to fight monsters because he had to serve his cruel half brother for killing people. 2) The order Hercules fights these monsters is very inaccurate. He first fights a wild centaur, then the 100 headed Hydra, then the Erymanthian Boar, Nemean LIon, Kills the Stymphalian Bird, then he kills some random sea serpent. He defeats 3 monsters, one of which looks like Madusa! This is not the order of which Hercules had to defeat for the King of Eurystheus of Tiryns. (Look up Hercules' 12 labours) The movie portrays Hades as a very angry and upset person who hates Zeus. When in reality/stories, he was a lonely person, in charge of the underworld, and had to deal with dead souls. He chose his own job. He was not therefor banished to the underworld. Look, you don't have time to read this entire comment but just know this. I like the movie. It's entertaining and has a few good musical numbers. But overall, it's not grounded in true Greek Mythology and/or facts".

Lead Operator (Former Employee) says"I worked for this company for 8 years gradually moving up from the bottom. I enjoyed this job and still enjoy the industry today. I have learned everything from how to run heavy equipment to how to fix it and also how to manage the manpower around the business itself. This company was taken over by new management in 2007 when the former owner/manager took an early retirement. In my opinion, the company went in a new direction that was not in the best interest of the employees nor the clients. The former owner/manager seemed to agree with that when he came out of retirement in 2012 and opened a new business a few towns over, taking the best employees with him and a large portion of the Hercules business. The business at 1st Choice has continued to grow from there."

Former Employee - Vice President says"I worked at Hercules Capital full-time Cons: Terrible CEO who fires people at a wim. Let good people go over his ego and is as bad as the one before. No board oversight."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Hercules Capital full-time for more than 3 years Cons: The toxic culture cultivated by the CEO and CIO was unbearable, consistently squeezing small unsophisticated firms for quarterly earnings was quite another. Readily evidenced in a simple Justia doc search. Now we get the pearl of charges recently brought against the current CEO for further evidence of the depths he will drop to for his own self interests, over his employees and shareholders. To say management is complicit would be an understatement. Is there any end?"
Former Employee - Vice President says"I worked at Hercules Capital full-time for more than a year Cons: Turnover is excessively high and that is due to the founder having real emotional challenges. He goes from charismatic to down right insulting with personal attacks. If it wasn’t for the CIO and other members of the support team, there would be even more turnover. I finally couldn’t stand it and left, although I was never attacked."
Former Employee - Investment Professional says"I worked at Hercules Capital full-time for more than 3 years Cons: CEO is absolutely crazy and the Board of Directors are a complete joke with no supervision of their CEO. Hostile work environment is never challenged, as CEO will fire you for having an opinion."
Investment Professional says"I worked at Hercules Capital Cons: Before considering a job a Hercules, reach out on LinkedIn to one of the dozen people that left in 2014 / 2015 - CFO, CCO, General Counsel, Managing Directors, Principals, HR, Associates, etc. - they will be afraid to be overly honest (for fear of the crazy CEO) but you will be able to read between the lines. The CEO is unstable. He will smile and shake your hand at the interview and then curse you and threaten to fire you along with everyone else. The reputation is so bad that getting a company to take their money is nearly impossible. Promises aren't kept. Incentive comp is a fantasy you wont see."
Former Employee - Managing Director says"I worked at Hercules Capital full-time for more than a year Cons: The firm has a difficult reputation in the financial community, has large turnover at all levels except the CEO, and the CEO has a very challenging personality. Parag Shah left the firm, which is a huge blow. The CFO also left, but that is not unusual. Hercules can be a good port in a storm, but otherwise should be avoided at almost all costs."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Hercules Capital full-time Cons: Endless -- This place is a chop shop run by a sycophant. Every VC knows to avoid this group with any of their portfolio. Reputation is terrible in the investment community. Huge founder turnover, executive turn over and this place is PLAGUED with legal action. The CEO is a total nightmare. Unfortunately there are a handful of decent folks there at the MD level that probably don't really have the viability to leave -- unreal turnover however. They also famously screw people on their bonuses. This place is a total JOKE."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Hercules Capital full-time for more than a year Cons: Below market comp and not much career potential"
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Hercules Capital full-time Cons: Unprofessional and very intense CEO"
Former Employee - Team Member says"I worked at Hercules Capital full-time Cons: You need to figure things out quickly on your own. If you're not ambitious, hungry, and able to adapt quickly to learn new things it may be difficult for you here."
