The Hudson's Bay Company (HBC; French: Compagnie de la Baie d'Hudson CBH) is a Canadian retail business group. A fur trading business for much of its existence, HBC now owns and operates retail stores in Canada and the United States. In 2006 HBC was sold for $1.1 billion to an American business man, Jerry Zucker and is no longer a Canadian-owned company. The company sold most of its European operations by August 2019 and its remaining stores, in the Netherlands, were closed by the end of 2019. HBC owns the Saks Fifth Avenue and Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th stores in the United States; most other American operations were sold by mid-2019 and the last remaining stores (Lord & Taylor chain) were sold prior to the end of 2019.

One angry customer wrote this about The Hudson´s Bay on bbb.org: I will never buy again from Hudson Bay. This was the first time I ordered from them and I will never make that mistake again. They are quick to take your money but you have to fight to get your refund. The Customer Service is a joke and as another disgruntled customer has already said, the people you speak to just keeping putting you off and do absolutely nothing to try and resolve your issue. I purchased online the same dress in two sizes and then returned one, after paying by ****. Hudson Bay then told me that my refund was coming on a gift card instead of being returned to my ****. I contacted them immediately and told them it had to go back onto my **** as that was how I had made my purchase. Customer Service agreed and I was told to wait for it to go through. Nearly 14 days later I received a piece of paper that listed a gift card number but no gift card attached. I rang and they confirmed that the gift card, that I didn't have was cancelled and I just had to wait another 24 hours for the money to go on my ****. Since then I have had to make 2 other phone calls to be told 'yes' the money is being returned without any sign of the money. Hudson Bay had the dress back, the gift card and my money!!! Finally, I have been refunded but I believe it was only my persistence that made that happen. I am not sure if this is was a ploy to make me purchase again from them but I will not use this Company in the future and especially do not want to have to deal with their Customer Service ever again.

"Management is terrible. Coordinators in all departments are getting away with things that other employees are getting fired for. Bad moral, i have never worked with people that miserable. Turnover rate is so bad its unbelievable."

"We're currently being mandated for every day until Christmas. Work life balance is at a negative which I didn't think was possible. Every employee in the building except for the criminally insane are depressed, angry, and nearly at a point where a riot is the only way forward. Management doesn't care, they will mandate you extra days, and you'll work 3-4 hours past your usual punch out time (usually 5-6am instead of 2:30am). The only enjoyable part of this job is looking at your pay stub during one of your breaks, and imagining what you could do with that money if you could get a day to go out and spend it."

"It used to be a great company to work for. It all went sideways a few months ago. The effect is just snowballing badly. The average work week is over 60 hours. They are mandating almost everyone every week. The team members are all exhausted and cannot make their required time percentages. Management doesn’t care. Good long time employees are dropping like flies, either quitting or being terminated. They are so short of people they are bringing in temps which are slowing things down even further as they learn the job."

"A company that is run by scammers, you will only see some profits before account gets closed. Beware of their tactics. You can get a charge back of your investment by hiring a reliable litigation firm. I was introduced to a firm named RE CO VE RY- AG, ENCY ,CO M , i recommend their service for anyone struggling with this company. Another way to be safe is to invest your money elsewhere. "HBCmarket are scamming company. They are useless. I opened an account bit I cant trade my self and for the last 7 weeks they only traded 6 times with petty profit. After requesting a withdrawal 5 times the account manager calls, very rude, shouting and insulting me that am I stupid and whats with withdrawals ? Then he says I need to pay him 200 Euro's penalty for wanting to close my account !! I told him fine No problem but you need to email me with this request ! He never did ! I have sent 5 emails to their support team NO REPLY they are just a joke, never reply. I have kept all emails/watsapp screenshots and recorded all conversations as evidence. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY"
