Medical Assistant/Receptionist (Former Employee) says

"Horrible place to work. I could literally write paragraphs about all the negative things regarding this place. Horrible managment, NEVER any positive reinforcement only what you do wrong. Toxic environment. A lot of favoritism and can only move up or get away with doing nothing if you are family. Bullying. Absolutely no communication, I guess you are supposed to know stuff by osmosis and are drilled into for not doing something you were never told about in the first place. You are given piles and piles of work to do and no time to do it. Can't have any overtime to finish your work and are expected to have everything done even when you are by yourself because they want to save a few bucks and not have too many people scheduled. Pay is horrible, never any raises or you only get a few cents if your review is phenomenal by your manager which, surprise surprise unless you are family your review is horrible no matter how hard you work. Nothing is consistent. They change the work flow constantly so nothing is ever organized which in turn affects patient care could and we are the ones who get yelled at by patients because the company can't get it together and let things run smoothly. There is no chance for advancement unless you are family. I could keep going but you get the point. It's a shame because I really enjoyed the patiemts and genuinely cared about them and on doing the best job I could but you can ony go unappreciated for so long. AVOID!!! Cons: Everything"

"I was a MA at epiphany dermatology. I quit on my own a few month ago because the managers were bad and the work just kept piling on. None of us could finish our work during the day because there were so many patients and so many tasks, and they didn't let us work over time to complete anything. I would get calls from management if I worked over time. When I complained that i couldn't finish the work because they didn't give me enough hours, they didn't care. Patients would call complaining, but the managers didn't care too give us more time. Cons: bad work place, bad managers"

"Company was the best when it was privately owned. Once it became corporate it was the worst place to work for! They will use you and expect a lot but they don’t want to pay you what your worth. Instead at your review they tell you all your wrongs to avoid a raise. They promise over time but won’t let you work close to your 40 hours. Management is awful and the regional manager is a bully"

"This place is the absolute worst company I have ever worked for. I worked at the same place for 3 years with 6 years of medical experience and left my job for empty promises, horrible people with horrible attitudes and overall disgusting bedside manners. The PA I worked with was verbally abusive and dismissive to patient needs. I feel this place is very un organized and the turn over rate is not surprising. Cons: Management and PA very unprofessional."

"The PA in the Muskogee office is VERY unprofessional! I am a former employee & during my time working there I had witnessed several HR viloations on her behalf but NO one cared to correct them! She is rude not only to the employees but to the patients as well! Management there is HORRIBLE! I reported several issues & NOT one of them was taken seriously! Cons: You are treated like trash!"

"A lot of politics , gossiping, backstabbing, throwing people under the bus . It’s like a group of mean girls who dissect the new girl . They look at the 2 bad things you did for example being 5 mins late when everyone else is 10-15 late ,doctor runs late with patients so you take a 45 min lunch . Then manager says you are taking to long of a lunch, when she just told u you MUST take 1 hr Cons: None"

"This company is not worth investing your time in. You will never be able to move up in the company. The yearly raises you get is not even 25 cents and it does not matter how much work you do for the clinic or how long you have been with them. The management is terrible, they tell you what you want to hear but nothing comes from it. They only seem to care when the CEO is around."

"Complaints are the only constant around here. Management won’t fix obvious problems like phone system that doesn’t work. There seems to be a work “harder” not “smarter” mentality amongst management. Morale is low and constantly getting lower. Turnover is very high and desirable new hires leave quickly. They don’t give raises and work you to death. Nepotism and idiots. It’s disgusting."

"This company is the worst company I have ever worked for. They will pay you the least amount of money possible but work you like a dog. They don't care about their employees well being, and silence any voices that don't agree with their shady methods. The maybe 2 good reviews on here were wrote by management to try to save face. I promise your best interest is not something they think about let alone care about. Cons: Everything"

"Employers don’t treat staff with respect, physician talks bad about employees in front of patients, no room for growth, felt as if the job duties implied more pay but didn’t happen, overall horrible, toxic work environment. Cons: poor management"

"Don't even think about using your paid time off. Management doesn't know what they are doing so they shift people into different roles instead of training them for the job they were hired to do. Nepotism. Upper management is shady. Cons: You get in trouble for using your paid time off, pay and upper management."

"I was originally hired when the dermatology practice was physician owned. Practice was then acquired by Epiphany and they immediately started increasing patient volume per provider without getting provider input first. I was hired for a specific location and skill set. Once Epiphany acquired the practice, I was told my job would change as well as the location. Instead of a 15 minute drive to work, I would now have to drive 45 to 50 minutes one way to a different location if I wanted to keep my job. This is the most mis-managed, disorganized, greedy organization I have ever worked for. As a provider you are placed on production only and the percentage of production is well below national average. Management is only concerned about themselves and not about employees. I was told by my manager that my family was not his or the company’s problem. I took this position originally because I was told I would be able to be at home with my children in the afternoon, as I am a single mother. After I started working, the promise by management was conveniently forgotten. If you work for this company and they tell you something is OK, ie. Leaving at a certain time to pick up your children from school, get it in writing. If they tell you you don’t have to work evenings or weekends, get it in writing. They conveniently forget their “assurances”. The management in the office I work at were notorious liars. Get it in writing! Get it in writing! Get it in writing! Or better yet don’t work there at all! Cons: As a provider, being overscheduled, you often got 5 to 10 minutes for lunch if you were lucky."

"If you are not the managers favorite or really good friends with the regional director than you are out of luck. You cannot give them information that is worth looking into because you will be confronted by it. There are no good raises or bonuses. There is no chance of advancement. If you are deserving of a certain position that seemed to be you were fit for, the position will still go to someone who is the favorite."

"I excepted the job with the best of intentions, the management team is the most unprofessional I have seen in my 9 years of working in the medical field. They encourage singling out people and making their job harder than it has to be if they don’t like you. I thought it was just me but when I spoke with other staff members in another department they informed me that this company has a high turnover rate on employee s due to the way they treat people. I"

"If I could I would put up an anti epiphany dermatology billboard so everyone could see it. In a heartbeat. This place is toxic. The only reason why they are looking for MA’s is because everyone quits when they realize how toxic the air is. The only reason why I’m still stuck there is because what very little they pay is necessary for survival. Cons: Everything"

"Where do I even begin? This company is a non physician ran company that does not follow its oh so precious core values. They especially do not value you as an employee. Employees are told what they want to hear but nothing ever comes of it. They say you can move up within the company but that has to go through like 5 people and they all say no. They make you feel like your concerns are theirs as well but let’s be honest...we are all disposable employees whose concerns are nothing. Unless you are part of a “management team” of some sort then you are nobody. The only ones who rate this place decently are the butt kissers and the ones that believe everything corporate tells them. If a breathable working environment with good pay is what you seek then please look elsewhere and save your sanity and general well being. Cons: Almost everything else"

"I worked at one of their locations and the environment in our office was awful. The PA had a major attitude problem, highlighted by complete lack of respect for her staff. She was verbally abusive, combative, impossible to please, and over all the most negative person I have ever met. I truly tried to make it work there but in the end, my sanity was more important. The company as a whole was a joke when it comes to pay. Don’t ever let someone tell you they offer competitive wages here because I worked here for 3 years almost, taking on numerous extra jobs including traveling to train new hires and implement new offices and only ever received pennies in wages. I loved my coworkers and we had a great team but overall this company is too money hungry. But that’s what happens when a medical practice is owned by a business grad. PRIVATE EQUITY DOES NOT BELONG IN MEDICINE! Cons: The PA was a nightmare"
