"Upper Management and administration make decisions often without having all the facts which can hurt their Independent Sales Reps. They refuse to acknowledge any mistakes or make corrections. They are quick to judge and never apologize. They always have the last word and will stop communicating especially when they are proven wrong. They have hurt their Sales Reps based on wrong information and snap judgments and have never apologized or corrected themselves. They hide in their offices, untouchable."

Once it went to india, Where the representatives could not even understand the people on the phone the company went down hill. They had no clue what a 'garage was, or front porch, or side streets etc.... Penny wise, Dollar foolish. Now the company has outsourced many jobs to people who could care less about Avon I don't see a bright future for Avon. Very sad"

Representative, Customer Service (Former Employee) says

"This company takes advantage of people. And if your looking to actually make even a little extra spending money RUN from this company! Customer service is rude they won't even help their sellers in the middle of a pandemic. Apparently I inverted 2 numbers on my credit card when I tried to make my payment so I get an extra 25 dollar fee so now I have lost money on this order. Even after calling to try to get help they were rude and refused to dismiss the 25 dollar fee so I paid them in full and closed the account but all I have to say about Avon is dont make the mistake of thinking this is a company that helps women because it doesn't. They are out for your money and they would have you give your all for pennies its truly disgusting.horrible company, cheaply made products, too expensive"

Representative, Customer Service (Current Employee) says

"After 14 years of selling, I am so extremely disappointed in Avon right now. All this new c r a p at triple the prices. Im losing customers like crazy. All their favorite items are disappearing and I have nothing to replace them with that they can or want to afford. Seriously Avon, what are you thinking?!?Remembering the good old daysNo one can afford any longer."

District Sales Manager (Former Employee) says

"Paid for 40 hours per week but usually worked about 80. I was a District Manager who continuously met and usually exceeded KPI's. Unfortunately management is well known for their derogatory insinuations and intimidation. You were always only as good as your last campaign and they made sure you knew that. A very secretive culture where people went behind your back and managers were not respected. All that being said, the company vehicle and gas card were wonderful perks and most of the people-excluding top management-were fun to work with. I certainly learned a lot about leadership and coaching. As stated, the hardest part of the job was dealing people who refused to take any responsibility for any failures of the company and refused to listen to those on the front lines.Company car, gas card, awesome first class trips all over the worldLong hours and no respect"

Twice she has promised to get to me on certain issues, well, tough .NoneNo communication, support"

"Culture is not great, the hardest part of the job is reaching representatives to actually offer training during 9 to 5. Most people are available in the evening and constantly changing their appointments with you.Nice office cubicalpoor management"

Sales Representative (Former Employee) says

"I became an Avon rep three years ago to try and earn a little extra money. My first order was delivered to me completely wrong and if there was an item out of stock, they just put random items in, my customers did not want any of these items. I called Avon and explained and asked if they could take the items back and send correctly and I was told to 'just flog the items i had' I then had to issue refunds to nearly £200 back to my customers. And sent stock back. Now THREE YEARS later, I have had contact from a debt collection agency to say I owe £190 to Avon or they will be starting court proceedings!! I contacted Avon and they have told me that it is is now too much time since my active account and they can't look into my case or account. A little side job has cost me £390 and i had to borrow money to pay my bills after paying this! Avon do not care and their customer service team are rude, unhelpful and obnoxious. DO NOT SELL AVON IT WILL PUT YOU IN DEBT FOR SOMETHING THAT IS NOT YOUR FAULT.NoneEvery part of working for Avon"

Geeward says

"I am a representative and am so disappointed in working with them. First getting money from customers is a struggle as they make late payments and it happens I have to use my own money to pay them. Secondly I was charged £20 extra for late payments which is so unfair. £20 extra for owning them just £27. This is more than 80% of what I owe them. Am totally disappointed in them."

Laura Brookes says

"Don't bother.

Horrible customer service
Never anything in stock anyway
Just terrible company really"

Corraine says

"I had wanted to purchase a few items and noticed the shipping fee was rather high. $8 for orders under $60. I didn't want to spend $60 to save on the $8 shipping so I went to a competitor and their shipping was free for orders over $35 plus I get rewards. I also heard that their reps commissions get docked for shipping fees for orders over $60. Another reason not to shop there."

Janice Obermiller Edgerton says

"Avon used to be very affordable with great products. They are now ridiculously over priced! It's a shame because I would have bought a lot of Christmas gifts for family."

Lily Manson says

"Avon has been a family staple since the early 80s. Suddenly, this year, they discontinued some of their best products, brought in a ton of overpriced items (Over $300 for skin cream? Huh, what?) A simple bottle of Skin-So-Soft oil IS NOW $30. That used to be half the total of my entire AVON order! A set of 3 mini lipsticks is $36! There aren't any really significant discounts to be had anymore other than free shipping. It's like they suddenly think they're a luxury brand and are charging stupidly high, arbitrary prices for the same inexpensive stuff they've been selling for years. No more AVON for us!"

Di says

"No more Avon! I always enjoyed receiving my book and making selections. Most of the products I had used are gone and now it's just overpriced crap. Who would buy this stuff now."

April Dawn Baker says

"I have been a loyal customer for more than 30 years and have had the same Avon lady for 20. I CANNOT BELIEVE what they are doing. They have discontinued so many items that I purchase religiously and replaced them with ridiculously high priced foo foo products such as that $1200, peacock. What idiot decided that alienating Avons loyal consumer base in exchange for gaining a few customers who have the means and desire to pay the ludicrous prices that have recently hit the pages of Avons catalog. Most especially during a pandemic, when folks have less disposable income then they would typically have otherwise. Not only have you alienated the loyal customer but are also putting your Avon "Ladies" in a terrible position with far less ability to sell their products and make any money themselves. Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves."

Mrs Margaret Schofield says

"Was recommended a product that was only available online (having checked with my Avon rep)
Ordered a Sleep Light, Lavender and Chamomile Spray and a hairbrush.
When it arrived, the items were in a Jiffy envelope which offered no protection. The plastic cap on the spray was broken and some of the contents had leaked. The sleep light was in a box and seemed OK but when I put the batteries in it wouldn't switch off! Only the hairbrush was undamaged.
I immediately emailed Avon.
No reply.
Five days later I had an email asking how they did - so I told them.
No reply.
A week later they asked me to write a review, so I did.
No reply.
So I'm now reviewing on Trust Pilot for all to see - and I won't be buying anything else from this company. They obviously just don't care."

Ashleigh says

"What is Wrong with the New company that bought out AVON?! Avon Charmed Eau de Perfume for $1,200!!! Night cream for $350!? Are you freaking kidding me. Avon used to be an amazing Company with great prices and customer service! Now it has gone to complete crap!

For a Rep, the ordering system has completely changed making it difficult to view the Catalogs and pricing since everything went Digital. Plus, the pricing is just insane running away Old Customers! Not to mention, Avon is typically older customers since Avon has been around so long. I am actually 35 years old but Love their Antiaging cream and was going to continue ordering it for years...Now with all the changes, I'll be searching for a new product for sure.

Such a huge disappointment this Hot Shot company came in making all these idiotic changes to a 134 year old Company!!!! Shame on you!!!! "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!""

Ice tea Amy says

"I reccently have reccently found out that most of the products have been tested on animals.I am shocked about this.I have been shoppibg here for 10 years. Now i am not going shopping here anymore. My favorite Product PONDS cream is tested on animals which I did not know."

Belinda Kondakdjian says

"What has happened to Avon? $1200 for a bottle of perfume? $350 a jar for face cream? The prices are ridiculous. Avon was always such a great company---sadly it isn't now. Other than a few new items in each book, they contain the EXACT same products as the previous book. I have ordered from a wonderful Avon representative for over 20 years. Unfortunately, I am going to tell her not to send me more books. I think I speak for a lot of customers that the prices are exorbitant Most of us don't shop on Rodeo Drive."

Gaye Killian McMurry says

"20+ years selling Avon and I don’t even know where to start at!! What in the hell are all these outrageous priced items? My customers have always enjoyed good quality products at a budget price point. The convenience of me delivering and a new book a couple times a month. My business is almost nothing now! All the items my customers have ordered are gone and replaced with some high falooting garbage.
I get more embarrassed with each book at the crap they are trying to sell. Really a $1,000 peacock bottle of high karate perfume???? Whoever is overseeing marketing these days needs to go......"

Chloe Robinson-Dalziel-Churchill says

"Avon has been sending me ridiculous amounts of emails, and calling me at unreasonable times; regarding a debt that I do not owe.

I had no choice but to raise several complaints, and ask for advice from Trading Standards UK, and Consumer Direct.

Avon has repeatedly said that I am at risk of being passed to the Debt Collection Agency, for which I had sent an email back to say that they are targeting a vulnerable adult.

The apparent debt I owe is over £250.

The company is using unfair practises, such as:
- Presenting information in such a way that it creates a false sense or misleading impressions.
- Unnecessary and unhelpful use of legal and technical terms.
- Ignoring and/or disregarding debtors wishes in respect.

My experience as both a sales leader and representative was, to be frank, one of the WORST experiences I’ve had.

Regarding the time, effort, and money I’ve put into Avon, I have NOT received any commission.

I joined Avon in May 2020, and have since joined the Body Shop at Home - making a much better commission with all the training and support needed."

Diana Lopez says

"I am a long-time customer of Avon, but I will most likely move to other brands. Their customer service upon returning an incorrect order has been horrible!! They received my return on Sept. 9. They say within 5 days of receipt of the return, my refund would be processed. Well here it is, September 20, and still nothing. Only when I called them did they manually process my refund which she said could take up to 2 weeks now to receive. So 11 days (Sept. 9 to Sept. 20) + 14 days to process = 25 days before receiving a refund. I said I should receive an Avon credit for this inconvenience. They said, "sorry."
They suck!!"

Lisa willliams says

"After 14 years of selling, I am so extremely disappointed in Avon right now. All this new crap at triple the prices. Im losing customers like crazy. All their favorite items are disappearing and I have nothing to replace them with that they can or want to afford. Seriously Avon, what are you thinking?!?"

Judy Sackman says

"I ordered a lipstick from Avon. Received the wrong color. I gave it back to my Avon representative. Waited for my new order, and they sent the wrong color again. Now I'll have to wait another week or two and hope they send the right color. I'm done with Avon!! I would never recommend Avon to anyone!!"

Jo says

"I have just received a debt collection letter for an order that I never made that I never received due to it getting to Parcelforce and being returned due to the box being damaged. THREE weeks later, the order still shows on my account which they have now closed and are chasing me through their collections department!! Absolutely shocking!!!"

Amy Douglas says

"I AM TYPING IN CAPITAL LETTERS BECAUSE I WANT MY COMPLAINT TO GET NOTICED.
I AM SEETHING WITH DISGUST AT AVON.
I HAVE WAITED ALMOST 7 WEEKS NOW TO RECEIVE MY ORDER OF AVON PRODUCTS WORTH MORE THAN £33.
I UNDERSTAND THEY HAD A COMPUTER PROBLEM,.BUT THIS IS TAKING THE MICK. I SUSPECT I MAY NEVER RECEIVE MY PRODUCTS, AND IN FACT I WOULD PREFER A REFUND, AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO BUY MY BEAUTY PRODUCTS. THERE IS NO PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE REP TELLSME AS I I HAVEN'T PAID HERSELF, MY REFUND MUST COME FROM AVON. I HAVE TRIED EMAILING THEM BUT ONLY GOT A VERY SLAPDASH UNINTERESTED REPLY.
I AM A GOOD CUSTOMER. I BUY EVERY MONTH AND HAVE DONE FOR YEARS. THEY SAY BUYING ONLINE IS MORE EFFICIENT. IN FACT IT'S A NIGHTMARE. THERE ARE PLENTY OF BEAUTY PRODUCTS AROUND. AVON IS NOW A DISASTER. GOD KNOWS IF I WILL EVER GET A REFUND, MY ORDER OR AN APOLOGY. BE WARNED. AVOID AVON LIKE THE PLAGUE."

Bonnie says

"I have only been with Avon for three months and have placed four online orders totalling nearly £80, three of the four have no arrived. I got a refund for one of them, the forth order was a re-order of the third and that has not arrived.

My rep is next to useless, when I contacted her the reply I received was ‘ring customer services, I can’t do anything’.I thought the rep was their to solve queries and help, they don’t want to know. On ringing customer services today, they are not taking calls till 1st July, which indicates the amount of complaints they are receiving.

I am now going to try and get a refund and will not be ordering again, a shame because the products are lovely."

Beth Jaycox-Kiley says

"Excellent core products. Skin care is becoming infiltrated with new stuff all of the time. Far too many new products that essentially do same thing. Most of all the costs are WAY TOO HIGH!! $ 60 dollars before free shipping kicks in?? and that is when I use a rep who does not deliver products and/or assist in way. Hate to say this...but this may force me to switch my skincare line of 20 years."
