Autonomy Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
HP Autonomy, previously Autonomy Corporation PLC, is a multinational enterprise software company founded in Cambridge, United Kingdom in 1996. Originally, Autonomy specialised in analysis of large scale unstructured "big data", becoming the UK's largest and most successful software business by 2010.
A former account executive wrote this in a review: "Horrible place to be in sales. No structure, arrogant management, lack of respect for customers and employees, bad reputation amongst customers, poor CRM system called SMS that is of no value to sales reps. No territory assignments, so customer list provided, lack of resources, lack of communication, lack of vision or direction...everyone that was there was looking for a way out. If you're approached for a sales position...keep looking, don't waste your time with Autonomy."
Assistant manager (Former Employee) says"I worked here for 8 months, they are a very poor company to work for, I had 3 different issues with my pay and nobody seemed in a rush to sort this out. The store I worked in was incredibly quiet and most of the day was spent stood around with very little to do. Cons: poor managed company"
Business Development Manager (Former Employee) says"great people, great company great working life very enjoyable"
Sales (Former Employee) says"good free lunch on Fridays. Cons: healthcare expenses doubled every year. poor management. politic heavy. no upward mobility"
Assistant Manager (Former Employee) says"Store manager oversaw 2 shops and although I was employed to run one of the branches in her absence anything I did such as re-merchandising areas to display new stock or the like, on the managers return it would all be moved back again, it's as though she could not let go of the shop and give someone else a go. I was certainly unable to use 30 years in retail & merchandising to my full potential. Shop was quiet, I feel the returns policy of no cash/card refund and only a credit note to be issued did not help. Not a good working environment. Had to buy their stock with a discount to wear as staff uniform. Cons: Had to push for sales."
Engineer (Former Employee) says"Very stressful place to work. Poor management and planning which results in more stress. Teams fight one another instead of working together for a common goal. Cons: Most stressful place I ever worked"
Account Executive (Former Employee) says"Horrible place to be in sales. If you're approached for a sales position...keep looking, don't waste your time with Autonomy. Cons: everything else...management, resources, messaging, demand generation, reputation...and more."
Software Engineer (Former Employee) says"Boring work, no performance reviews (but they happily fire for lack of performance), no promotions, raises, rare (if any) and arbitrary bonuses. Majority of senior technical staff walked out so quick they couldn't keep the door from swinging in 2011, so-called 'new management' is all the same, only the names changed. Strings are pulled from HQ in the UK, US-based management busies themselves with politics and talking instead of doing. None of insanely high profit margin is invested into development or tools, Autonomy 'does not pay for software tools'. They continue to hire sales people, while they are unable to replace technical staff, the customer gets the short end of the stick. Short-sighted assignment of development staff to projects changes frequently, feeling is of a consulting shop rather than a software development environment."
Key Enterprise Software Executive (Former Employee) says"Just google Autonomy within the glassdoor.. All of it is true. Not sure if that site touched on the fact the software is fully slideware. Cons: software non-existant, mgmt, culture, uneducated"
Associate Account Representative (Current Employee) says"I enjoyed the co-workers at Autonomy, but the environment is very toxic and there is little opportunity to advance with in the organization. Management does little to solve problems and like most organizations with a lot of middle management it seems that many decisions get bottle necked at the C-Level and take an absurd time to make a decision. The office politics are particulary bad with most divisions constnatly pointing the finger at another department and even throwing members on your own team under the bus. Cons: compensations & opportunity to advance in the organizations"
Support Worker/Carer (Former Employee) says"Residents were too challenging and violent, most had been relocated for medium secure units. the unit was badly managed and the staff were not looked after Cons: bad management"
E-Discovery Account Representative (Former Employee) says"tumultuous environment-acquisition followed by a lawsuit alleging undervalued accounts and questioning the technology acquired while requiring sales reps to sell the same product"
Global Channel Manager (Current Employee) says"It would be wise to learn all the different solutions, make connections and move on."
Retail Assistant Manager (Current Employee) says"The shop has a happy and efficent ambience and the team is one of the best I have ever worked with. We started as collegues and will leave as friends."
Data Lab Specialist (Current Employee) says"it's so fun to working here with ping pong table and Billiard Pool for employee to relax,Free breakfast every wednesday,Free lunch every Friday"
Application Support Specialist (Former Employee) says"The staff in your department are friendly, but not everyone is the organization. a lot of us left the place after HP bought us, and make the culture even worst."
QA Engineer II in HP (Current Employee) says"Ok place to work, mainly depends on who you are reporting to."
Support Worker (Former Employee) says"Really enjoyed my time at Autonomy, not enough staff at times. Cons: No eating, drinking or toilet hygiene products supplied, had to take everything with you even your cutlery and cup.No break time to have time out space.""
Technical Specialist (Former Employee) says"Good company to work for. Salary/ Benefits are very good starting salary for graduates. Cons: training could be better."
