Atari Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Atari is a brand name owned by several entities since its inception in 1972, currently by Atari Interactive, a subsidiary of the French publisher Atari, SA. The original Atari, Inc., founded in Sunnyvale, California in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney, was a pioneer in arcade games, home video game consoles, and home computers. The company's products, such as Pong and the Atari 2600, helped define the electronic entertainment industry from the 1970s to the mid-1980s.

One angry customer shared this in a review "The game rollercoaster tycoon by Atari touch does'nt even work. when I bought something the game crashed and I needed to pay way more then ever. and even when I got it, it crashed again and I could start over spending too much time and energie in the game. Delete was the only option, and just keep my money. On the website you can make an account, but it first needs to go trough some sort of admin who does not even reply. I'm not happy with the games and services of Atari company."

"The company has been broken for years and managed by one incompetent team after another. Sadly several of the recent owners haven't cared enough to revive the brand to it's glory days."

"A bloated infrastructure and an executive team and board that were not with the times brought the company down."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"Mostly due to a lack of money, nothing of quality could get done. Because of this feeling, no one felt inspired to find creative solutions. Super corporate, very political, and very emotional. Note to anyone getting an executive/vice-something position: It was often said that having an office meant you were cursed to get fired within a year."

"Publisher meddles with Studio development practices"

says

"Unrealistic & unachievable expectations given constraints. Short cuts were taken on projects due to schedule and budget issues. A lot of fire drills. A lot of priorities shifting without actually thinking through consequences."

"Constantly restructuring, shouldn't be a public company"

"* They ask you to work free during training * You will barely have complete breaks in a regular shift * They cut your last pay when you’re done working for them by half so be prepared to deal with the ministry of labour to help you get it back, which you will. * overall, a terrible, greedy and selfish management to work with. Wouldn’t recommend it even if it was the last place on earth."

"Atari is a very niche yet cool environment. The overall vibe is pretty relaxed, the music is great and most guest generally enjoy their experiences there. On the downside Winter is a very slow time of the year for them and business seems to have come to a halt."

Audio Engineer & Sound Designer (Former Employee) says

"My experience at Atari was simultaneously great and frustrating. My supervisors were constantly in flux and one of them was extremely difficult to get along with. When I didn't have to deal with him my job was a joy and I received a lot of compliments on my work there.gained a ton of experiencedifficult and incompetent supervisor"

"This company did not respect their words (email exchange available). They are no handling my case properly. And currently I considered they lied to me in full conscience to get they hands on a substantial amount of money. Their customer support seems only able to cut and paste big chunk of useless information, or even invite you to contact third parties... They did not answer any (none) of my personal request so far. Only experienced incompetence, lies and complete lack of respect so far... Typically the kind of company you do not want to be in business with, just a shame and a huge waste of money!"
