Ametek Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
AMETEK, Inc. is an American global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices with a headquarters in the United States and over 220 manufacturing sites worldwide. The company was founded in 1930. The company's original name, American Machine, and Metals were changed to AMETEK in the early 1960s, reflecting AME's evolution from a provider of heavy machinery to a manufacturer of analytical instruments, precision components, and specialty materials.
A former Extruder Operator of AMETEK talks about a bad situation with The Union in a review for Indeed: Union-based work, pay union dues during probation, not part of the union "The people who work there get really threatened when someone who works harder is seen as competition. You pay union dues after 30 days but are not part of the union until after 5 months. So have fun with them stealing your money and offering no protection on matters that should have representation. They'll probably fire you after the union rep leaves if they are going to as well."
Audio / Video Technician (Former Employee) says"My contract was different than the offer that was made to me. I had to sign it or start the hiring process all over again. Was told we would take a look at it later in the year. It never happened. Bad company that does not care about its employees or its customers. Shameful place. The managers would rarely help with anything, yet blamed you for everything. I learned a lot.Evil Corporate America at its finest."
Machine Operator (Former Employee) says"I don't recommend it to anybody. Management is rude, nasty and discriminates people. No sensibility at all. Employees are treated as animals. Make one mistake and you will be fired without hesitation or without listening. They make the rules and only them can brake them...Don't work there even if they offer you a million dollars an hour."
assembler of cooling fans (Current Employee) says"Ever since our manager retired, they no longer have a dept. manager but a dept. lead. It has continued to go down hill since then. I am not treated as a valued employee.I have seen people come and go on a regular basis as they are unhappy with the way they are treated. I've been there for six years now, and become very disillusioned and feel undervalued more and more each day."

Assembly Worker (Former Employee) says"FMH-Ametek is the worst, false promises, horrible management, takes away bonuses and will run it to the ground with impossible quotas, and they’ll just let you go when deemed appropriate for no reason and say your position is no longer necessary no matter how important you were to it. Management is friends with HR and will put friends in high places, cuss you out if you don’t obey and force you to work countless hours on demand if they feel so. Run away from them. There are no pros to working at FMH-AmetekEverything is a con they’ll ruin your life, like you are nothing"

This company does not care about talent retention or growth of any kind. Employees do not matter; Quarterly statements are all that matter. Management will take 6-8 months to replace employees leaving work undone or over burdening the already low paid staff. As close as you can legally get to a sweat shop.
